Hahlo – A Free Browser-Based Twitter Client – Falls Flat

Firstly, let me say that in the video review I don’t see anywhere that you modify Hahlo, however you can change the colors and look of Hahlo in the ‘colors’ tab (but only if you any understanding of color swatches and code, which not a lot of people do and even then it failed several times to change our settings).

Hahlo is the first browser-based Twitter client that we have reviewed here at TwitTwitTwitter.com and as such may be the only one as, to be quick honest and upfront with you, unless they offer something special, we don’t see the point in them.

If you’re going to be browser-based and taking a look at Twitter, then go to Twitter.com. Why would you not? But does Hahlo offer anything outside of the norm to redeem it?

Sadly no. Other than a cleaner, more welcoming interface, which is changeable color-wise (as mentioned above, if you understand color swatches and code), Hahlo has nothing much to offer, especially as it is browser-based. It basically does everything that you can do on Twitter and little else. There are some feature such as the ability to hide retweets, auto refresh, and geo-locations, but nothing that would push me to use it over using Twitter.com or to using a desktop client for that matter.

So unfortunately, this has been quite a short review and that’s mainly because Hahlo just doesn’t work for us. If you’re going to use Twitter and use it on the internet using your web-browser just use Twitter.com. Sadly Hahlo offers nothing special and we recommend that you don’t use it.
